In July 2018, CiTECH were awarded a contract from Solar Turbines to supply 3 CiBAS Waste Heat Recovery units and associated exhaust ducting for installation on the Shell operated Penguins FPSO. In order to keep the centre of gravity as low as possible, and also to allow unrestricted helicopter and on-board crane operations, rather than have the exhaust stacks in the usual vertical layout, the ducts were directed across the top deck of the vessel. Although the WHRU’s were cold cased, to meet our clients requirements, the exhaust ducts runs up to xxm each were hot cased with external insulation.
