The world’s largest deepwater oil field (Buzios 7) will soon see the arrival of the Petrobras-operated P-78 FPSO. Assisting to reduce CO2 as well as save energy, Siemens Energy contracted CiTECH to supply 4 large Waste Heat Recovery Units (WHRU) on the power modules for this Brazil-bound vessel.
CiTECH have designed the heat exchanger with a parallel flow section as well as a counterflow section to avoid the possibility of any acid condensation on the heat exchanger pipes. These hot-cased WHRU’s, manufactured in stainless steel case materials, are of the traditional type – using louvre dampers to control and direct the GT flow over the heat exchanger modules to meet the demanding heat requirements of this Petrofac-operated giant. CiTECH provided the whole scope from the GT outlet flanges to the end of the exhaust stack, including inlet ducting, silencers, louvre dampers, support structures, expansion joints, and outlet stacks.
